Lost a whole Saturday because of a jellyfish sting off Ocean City pier
I went out for a relaxing day of surf fishing last July and got stung by a jellyfish within 20 minutes of stepping in the water. The pain was bad enough but the weird rash lasted five days and I missed the whole bite window for flounder that weekend. Has anyone else had a beach day get completely wrecked by something that stupid?

Oh man, that sucks so bad. I've had the exact same thing happen to me down at Rehoboth Beach a few years back. What got me was that you don't always see them coming, especially if the water is a little cloudy. If you ever get tagged again, grab some meat tenderizer or baking soda and make a paste with salt water. It neutralizes the sting a lot faster than pee or vinegar, trust me. The rash sticking around for days is totally normal, it's your body still reacting to the proteins, so an antihistamine like Zyrtec helps more than you'd think. Don't let it ruin the whole trip if you can help it, just keep a cooler of beer and your chair up on the sand for the rest of the day.
