Rant: A homemade scale model killed my belief in flat earth theory

Seeing it for myself was way more convincing than any video, lmao.

Totally, it's that physical proof right in front of you. For me it was a little model of the solar system, just seeing how the orbit actually worked at that scale. You can read a hundred articles, but turning it in your hands makes it feel real in a way a screen never can.

Wait, you had a model where the planets actually moved in orbit? Mine just hung there on wires. That changes everything, it's not just a static display. I would have stared at that for hours, watching the whole system turn. No wonder it made such a big impression, that's a real working model. Where did you even find something like that?

What part of the model made it click for you? Sometimes a physical thing you can hold just cuts through all the online noise.

Know exactly what you mean... just holding the thing in your hands makes all the specs and reviews fade away. It cuts right through the digital overload and just... clears your head.
