That $180 'emergency' roadside kit I bought and never touched
Bought a fancy roadside kit from a truck stop in Flagstaff after a tire scare, but it's just jumper cables and a crappy flashlight I could've gotten for $30. The air compressor died on first use, so I still called AAA anyway. Anyone else hold onto gear out of guilt even after it proved useless?
Man, $180? That's rough but come on, you knew truck stop prices are a scam before you even walked in. That store marks up bottled water to four bucks, so a "deluxe emergency kit" was never gonna be a deal. The real issue here isn't the money, it's that you're still hauling it around like it owes you something. A dead compressor plus jumper cables you already had equals a box of junk taking up trunk space. Just pull the cables out, toss the rest, and call it a $150 lesson about buying stuff while you're stressed. Holding onto it won't bring the money back.
