That $50 backup camera I installed myself saved my bumper twice already
I dropped 50 bucks on a wireless backup cam from Amazon back in March for my old Ford F-150. The thing's been a lifesaver in my narrow alley behind the garage off Elm Street, especially with the kids' bikes always parked back there. I swear it's saved me at least two bumpers and a trash can so far. Anyone else rig one of these up and actually have it pay off?

Yeah those cheap backup cams are honestly amazing for the money. I put one in my old Tacoma last summer and it's saved me from hitting a low concrete post like three times already. You definitely don't need a fancy brand name thing for it to work. Even with the delay on the wireless ones it's better than nothing.

Honestly I was just reading about this in a car forum the other day. Someone was saying how those cheap cameras actually have better night vision than the expensive ones sometimes because they don't have all that software processing. My buddy put one in his Sierra and said the same thing about low posts and curbs. The delay is annoying but you get used to it after a week. Plus if it breaks you're out like 30 bucks instead of a couple hundred.

Wait, have you noticed that too? I swear the cheaper ones just show what's there without trying to make it look fancy. Less lag on some of the hardwired ones too.
