That $80 'ghost detector' app I bought in Salem was a total scam

Downloaded this app that supposedly picks up electromagnetic fields and audio frequencies spirits leave behind. Paid $80 for the full version after the free trial showed all these 'hits' in my basement. Turns out the trial version just plays random beeps and the paid one does the same thing. My phone's compass app picks up more activity. I went to the old jail in Salem with it and got nothing but static while an EVP recorder from 1998 did better. Anyone else get burned by paranormal tech that's just a cash grab?

My oldest kid tried that same app after a sleepover and spent a whole week convinced the basement was haunted because of it. Took me three days to notice he was reading the compass function backwards and the "spirit voices" were just the neighbor's ham radio bleeding through. The real irony is my phone dropped a call in that old jail and THAT felt more paranormal than anything the app did. Between this and the $40 "ghost box" my sister bought at a flea market, I'm convinced the real ghosts are the wallets of people who want to believe. At least the app makes for a decent white noise machine if you set it to static mode.
