The moon landing footage quality difference still bugs me

I was watching some old NASA documentaries from the 1960s and the moon landing footage looks way too good for 1969. We had grainy home movies from that era, but the Apollo 11 videos are crystal clear in places. Over about 6 months of digging into this, I found that the actual telemetry data was sent in a different format than what was shown on TV. NASA says they converted it for broadcast, but the timing and clarity just don't match up to what was possible with 60s tech. I think the footage was either recreated in a studio or heavily altered after the fact to make it look more dramatic. Has anyone else compared the raw data logs to the broadcast tapes and seen the same mismatch?

Honestly, nobody talks about how the cold war pressure meant faking it was less risky than failing.

Watch how the same thing happens with old photos and videos today - people edit the crap out of everything to make it look better than it really was. Makes me wonder if we've just always been okay with faking stuff for the sake of a good story.
