I thought QR codes on jobsite drawings were a gimmick until our super in Plano tried it
I used to print full drawing sets for every crew because my guys are older and hate phones. Then last month our super in Plano taped a QR code to the wall by each door, and now the framers scan it and pull up the same sheet I printed. We cut our plotter paper bill from $340 a month to about $90, and nobody has installed off a stale revision since. The part that got me was seeing a 58 year old lead hand with the app open on his phone, zooming in on a detail hatch. I was sure paper was the only way these crews would ever read the drawing. Anyone else running QR codes at the actual work face, and how are you numbering the sheets so nobody scans the wrong one?
