PSA: the flagger on our site in Dayton said something that changed how I plan pours
Last Thursday a flagger I've worked with for maybe 6 months told me he always knows when a pour is going bad before the finishers do. He said he watches the pump truck hose and when the operator starts shaking it harder instead of letting the mix flow, that means the slump is off. I started paying attention on our next two slabs and he was right both times, we ended up adding water when we shouldn't have. Now I radio the batch plant before we even get to that point. Anyone else get their best info from the guys nobody thinks to ask?
