Rant: spent 4 hours last Tuesday trying to get a total station to link to my tablet because of one dumb setting
I was on a job site in Reno and my Trimble total station kept dropping the Bluetooth link to my tablet every 30 seconds. Turned out the tablet's battery saver was killing the connection, and I only figured it out after 3 calls to support and way too much coffee. Has anyone else had a simple tech setting eat up half a workday like that?
Battery saver on a tablet is a pain but I gotta say I see it the other way. Four hours and three support calls seems like a lot for something you can test in five minutes by turning off the power saving mode first. That is the very first thing I check when any wireless link starts dropping, right after a restart. Bluetooth issues on job sites are so common that you kind of learn to rule out the simple stuff before you even dial support. Sucks that it happened but that setting is gonna be burned in your brain forever now.
