A viewer told me my audio sounded 'like a tin can' and I switched mics overnight

I was using this cheap USB mic I got for like $40 on Amazon. Thought it was fine until someone in my comments straight up said 'love your content but the audio hurts my ears'. I ignored it at first but then 3 more people said the same thing. Finally borrowed a friend's Shure MV7 and oh man the difference was night and day. My watch time went up like 30% in the month after I switched. Anyone else have a single piece of feedback that made you completely change gear?

I mean maybe it's just me but that 30% bump could've been from other stuff like better content or algorithm luck, not just the mic alone. Switching gear that fast without testing seems a little reactionary honestly.

Actually algorithm luck and content quality are different things... gotta separate those variables.
