Changed my mind about coworking spaces after a day at WeWork in Denver

I always thought coworking was a waste of money for solos like me, but I had a free trial pass and stayed 8 hours. The noise level was way lower than my coffee shop and I actually finished a full editing queue before 3pm. Has anyone else found a workspace that made you rethink your home office setup?

Oh man @jessica130 I feel like you got the raw end of the WeWork deal haha. The bathroom line thing is real though, I've seen it get bad at a place in Denver where I crashed a friend's pass and ended up just holding it for 20 minutes.

Count me as the holdout who still thinks coworking is overrated. I tried WeWork in Denver too and spent half the day hunting for an open outlet near a seat that wasn't already taken by someone's laptop bag saving it. The free coffee ran out by 10am and the bathroom line was longer than my local coffee shop's. By 2pm the noise from someone's loud phone call made me pack up early. Paid the same as my home internet bill for one day of frustration. Still just a fancy table, just with more distractions dressed up as vibe.

OH man, I TOTALLY get what you mean. I was the same way, thought coworking was just a fancy way to pay for a table. But I tried a place in Austin last year and it was a GAME CHANGER. The lighting was way better than my dim home office and I didn't have to fight my cat for desk space. Plus having actual office chairs stopped my back from hurting by lunchtime. The key for me was finding the right spot - some are loud and chaotic but others are dead quiet.
