Hit 500 subs on YouTube and it felt fake

Was stuck at 200 for months. Kept posting gaming clips. Nothing changed. Then one random Tuesday a short blew up. Gained 300 subs in 6 hours. Felt like a glitch. Anyone else had a random spike that made no sense?

The algorithm gets weird sometimes and just dumps your video in front of a random huge audience. Had a friend who got 500 subs overnight and then it dead stopped the next day.
