I finally called out a creator who used my footage without asking

Last Thursday I was scrolling through a channel I watch sometimes and saw a 10-second clip from my own video about editing workflows. No credit, no link, just clipped right in. I commented asking about it and the creator deleted my comment within 2 hours. I messaged them directly and they said they thought it was "fair game" since it was on YouTube. I spent a whole day gathering timestamps and evidence before I filed a takedown. Has anyone else had someone steal their work and act like it's no big deal?

I recently read that YouTube's own policies say just being on the platform doesn't give you the right to take someone else's work.

Totally agree with you @jamie940. People act like posting online means it's free for the taking.
