Just heard a podcast tip about batch recording that actually clicked for me

I was listening to this podcast from a creator named Sarah from Austin who makes travel vlogs. She said she records all her voiceovers for a whole month in one single afternoon, like 4 hours straight. Tbh I always thought that would burn me out but she said the key is keeping each take under 90 seconds. Has anyone else tried batching their audio like this or do you prefer recording day-of?

Oh man, the first time I tried batch recording I accidentally left my mic on while muttering "what am I even doing with my life" and guess who had to re-record the next 30 minutes of audio. But honestly, when it works it really works. I did a batch session for my weekly cooking videos and somehow my voice sounds more consistent across the whole month now, like I'm narrating from the same parallel universe. Have you found the 90 second limit helps keep your energy up or do you need longer takes to get into the zone?

3 months ago I sat down and tried Sarah's exact method just to see if it worked. I blocked off a Friday afternoon and recorded voiceovers for 7 videos in about 3 and a half hours. Honestly it felt weird at first but by the third take I was in a groove and it got way easier. I do miss the spontaneity of recording day of though, like when something fresh pops into my head right when I'm editing. But saving all that time on setup and teardown every single week has been a lifesaver for me.

Wait, 7 videos in one sitting? That's insane honestly.
