Quit my editing suite subscription for a free tool, 2 projects in and no regrets

I run a tiny channel, about 800 subscribers, and I was paying $35 a month for a fancy editing program. After my last sponsor payout barely covered it, I switched to DaVinci Resolve last month. The learning curve was rough for the first few nights, but I got through a full 10 minute video without crashing. My export times are slower, but I save enough to buy a better mic next quarter. Has anyone else made this swap and stuck with it, or did you end up going back to the paid option?
