Split testing thumbnails doubled my views in one month
I always just picked whatever thumbnail felt right and uploaded it. Last month I finally started A/B testing two different thumbnails for each video using TubeBuddy's split test feature. The difference was wild - one video got 2.3x more clicks from the test thumbnail compared to my original pick. Has anyone else seen big jumps from swapping thumbnails?

Started doing the same thing about 6 months ago and it was a game changer. I found that bright colors with a clear focal point on the left side where the timestamp sits got way more clicks than cluttered shots. Also learned that faces showing strong emotions like shock or excitement beat neutral expressions every single time, at least for my niche.

Wait, are you saying the timestamp location matters that much for clicks? Ngl, I would've thought the focal point could be anywhere on the thumbnail. That's wild that putting it on the left side specifically made that big of a difference for you.

Strong emotions beat neutral expressions" damn yeah that changed my whole approach. Was stubborn about it before.
