The $35 microphone arm that fixed my audio way better than the $150 one

I was fighting with this cheap desk clamp mic arm for like 6 months. It kept drooping into my shot and picking up every little desk vibration. I almost dropped $150 on one of those fancy broadcast arms everyone raves about. But then I spotted a $35 gas spring arm on some random forum thread. Figured I had nothing to lose, worst case I'm out the cost of two pizzas. That thing holds my mic steady as a rock, no sag even after hours of recording. The secret is it uses a proper c-clamp mount instead of the flimsy clip on my old one. Has anyone else found a cheap fix that beat out the expensive option for you?
