The week my 5 minute video blew up and my 40 minute one died (need help reading the numbers)
So last Tuesday I posted a quick 5 minute kitchen tip video I almost deleted, and by Friday it had 210k views, 6,400 likes, and 340 comments. Meanwhile the 40 minute deep dive I slaved over for two weeks got 1,200 views and like 15 comments. Same channel, same week, same posting time around 7pm. I sat at my desk in Sacramento refreshing the analytics tab like a maniac trying to figure out what happened. Best guess is the short one hooked people in the first 3 seconds with me dropping a pan, and the long one opened with 40 seconds of me talking at a camera. I don't want to ditch long form, that's where my real viewers are, but now I'm second guessing everything I make. Anyone here cracked the code on why one video pops and the next flops with the same effort?
