The week my editor queue turned into a ghost town overnight

Back in 2019 I was juggling 3 regular clients and turning down work, then one Tuesday all of them went quiet within 48 hours, no explanation until a month later. Turns out two of them got bought out and the third just stopped paying invoices after a company restructure. Has anyone else had a whole client base vanish at once like that, and how long did it take you to rebuild?
