Warning: My microphone audio interface died mid-stream last week
I was right in the middle of a live stream last Tuesday night, about 45 minutes in, when my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 just stopped working. The lights went out and no sound was coming through at all. I panicked and swapped to a USB mic I had in my drawer, but the audio quality dropped so bad I had to end the stream early. Has anyone else had a piece of gear fail on them like this and what did you replace it with?

Swapped to a USB mic faster than I'd admit to my audio engineer friends.

Oh man, @the_wendy I feel that in my soul. I definitely spent a good hour trying to fix a crackling sound by moving my old headset mic around before I just gave up and bought a Blue Yeti. The shame was real when my buddy who actually knows audio asked what I was using. You think they can hear us lying through the new mic?
