A stranger at a bus stop in Columbus told me to stop arguing with my dad
I was 19 and ranting about how my old man never listened to me, and this retired guy just said, "You're not trying to win the fight, you're trying to win the relationship." It hit weird because I kept replaying every dumb argument I had with pops since then. Anyone else get life advice from a random person and still think about it 15 years later?

Is it crazy how the universe always seems to send the right message at the exact moment you're ready to actually hear it? That retired guy basically said what every therapist charges $150 an hour for, except he did it in like five seconds while waiting for a bus. I've noticed that the most honest feedback rarely comes from the people who know us, it comes from total strangers who have zero skin in the game and just see the pattern from the outside. It makes me wonder how many other little truths I've walked right past because I wasn't in the right headspace to catch them.
