Appreciation post: that 5-minute fix that ate my whole Saturday
I spent 6 hours trying to patch a drywall crack in my hallway that a handyman told me would take "15 minutes tops" before I finally figured out the stud was shifting behind it. Has anyone else had a tiny house project turn into a full day slog?
Oh man, that's the classic "15 minutes" trap. More like 15 hours and a new gray hair. Is it even a real home project if it doesn't turn into an all-day thing?
Three trips to Home Depot and a lot of muttering later, I finally admitted defeat on my "quick" shelf install. Ended up using half the brackets because the stud finder was lying to me, and the other ones were in a spot that would've made the whole thing look crooked. Now I just tell people it's a "floating" shelf with a minimalist vibe.
