My barber in San Antonio told me to quit my job while he was cutting my hair
I was sitting in the chair at a shop off Bandera Road back in March, complaining about my warehouse gig for the tenth time, and he just stopped cutting and looked at me. He said "man, you talk about that place like it's a bad marriage, so why you still there." I laughed it off but it hit me weird and I couldn't sleep that night. Three weeks later I put in my two weeks and started doing HVAC work with my cousin, and I'm making $4 more an hour now. Has anyone else had a total stranger call them out like that and it just stuck?
Honestly that story bugs me a little. Your barber gave you a push, sure, but you're the one who couldn't sleep and did the work to get out. Guys behind the chair hear complaints all day and most of the time the person just wants to vent, not get life advice. If a stranger telling you to quit was all it took, seems like you were already halfway out the door and just needed somebody to say it out loud.
