My boss convinced me I was wrong about GPS units after my truck got stuck in a ditch
Last month I was delivering a package out near Bumfuck, Iowa and my old Garmin took me down this gravel road that turned into a mud pit. Got my truck stuck axle deep for like 2 hours before a farmer pulled me out with his tractor. I told my boss about it and he said I was dumb for not using the route planner on the dispatch app instead. I argued that GPS is GPS, right? But he showed me how the app uses real time road conditions and satellite views to avoid those dead end farm roads. I had no idea it could do that. Now I check both before I head out anywhere rural. Has anyone else had their work tech save them from a stupid mistake like that?

Wait, is getting stuck in a ditch really that big of a deal? I mean, it happens to everyone sometimes.

Getting stuck ain't just inconvenient, it costs time and money most people don't have to waste.

Wait, people actually pay serious money for ditch recovery? I thought that's just something you pull your buddy out for with a tow strap.
