My uncle told me to skip college and learn a trade. I did it 15 years ago and now I'm not sure.

My buddy went the trade route and makes great money, but he's totally burnt out on the physical grind. He's looking at night classes now because his knees are shot and he wants options. The grass isn't always greener, it's just different grass with its own set of problems.

Knees shot sounds rough, but @luna_wright, is it really that bad for most tradespeople? A lot of guys I know are fine.

Man, it's like we're all just picking which kind of pain we can handle. You see it everywhere, office folks feeling stuck and drained, trade folks worn down by the work. It feels like the system's just set up to grind people out, no matter which path you pick.
