That Tuesday when my neighbor finally told me why my tomato plants were dying after three seasons of failure
She said I was drowning them with daily watering instead of letting the soil dry out between drinks, so I switched to just twice a week and now I've got more cherry tomatoes than I know what to do with, has anyone else had a simple gardening tip completely flip your harvest?

My buddy Dave killed all his peppers doing the same thing.

Throw some sand or pumice in there too (perlite works but it floats to the top over time). I switched to a 50/50 mix of coco coir and perlite for my peppers and it fixed all my root rot issues instantly. Let the pots get bone dry before you water again, like stick your finger two inches down dry.

@jasonallen RIP Dave's peppers lol. I saved mine by adding a ton of perlite to the soil mix, like 40% perlite to 60% potting soil. Also drilled extra drainage holes in the bottom of the pots and let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Definitely helped them bounce back from being overwatered.
