The 27th voicemail from my dentist's office changed my whole phone policy

Last month I dodged every call from my dentist for a week, assuming it was about a bill. On the 27th missed call, they left a message saying my root canal had been cancelled due to a scheduling error, and if I didn't reschedule within 48 hours I'd lose my $300 deposit. That one weirdly specific number made me realize I'd been ignoring all unknown numbers for years, even the ones that matter. Now I answer everything and just hang up on spam, which has actually saved me from missing a job interview and a package delivery in the same week. Has anyone else had a random milestone in missed calls that snapped them into a new habit?

That "27th voicemail" thing really got me thinking... I read somewhere that most people ignore up to 20 percent of their calls because they just assume it's spam, and we're all missing real stuff because of it. I started picking up everything last month too after missing a call about my cat's surgery follow-up, and yeah, it's annoying but it's honestly less stressful than wondering what I'm dodging.
