The afternoon a homeless guy named Ron gave me my mail sorting strategy
He watched me struggling with a mislabeled bundle and said 'you're overthinking it, just go by the zip code not the street name'. I changed my whole route organization that day and cut 20 minutes off my sorting time, has anyone else gotten weirdly practical advice from a stranger like that?

That's a solid piece of advice and it's funny how the best tips come from people who aren't trying to sell you anything. I had a similar thing happen at the dog park a few years back. Some older guy watched me struggling to get my dog to stop pulling on the leash, and he just said "stop walking when he pulls, only move when the leash is loose." Took about two weeks of being stubborn, but it actually worked better than any fancy training video I watched online. It's like strangers see the problem without all the noise in your head. Good on you for listening to that guy, most people would've just ignored him because of how he looked.

my friend josh had a similar thing happen with his truck. some random guy at a gas station told him to check the vacuum line on his intake manifold when he was complaining about a rough idle. saved him like 300 bucks at the shop lol.
