Why does nobody talk about the stranger at the diner who just listens?
I was in Oklahoma City last month, sitting alone at a diner counter around 2 AM after a rough week. This older guy next to me ordered coffee, and I started rambling about my job search and how I felt stuck. He didn't give advice, just nodded and said, 'Sometimes you need to hear yourself say it out loud before you can fix it.' We talked for maybe 20 minutes, then he paid and left. That conversation made me realize I'd been ignoring my own answers. Has anyone else had a random stranger's quiet attention flip something for them?
