Question about that day I learned my grandmother's cookie recipe wasn't hers at all

I found an old recipe box from my grandma last Tuesday and discovered the 'secret family cookie recipe' she always made actually came from a 1972 Pillsbury bake-off. Turns out she used canned frosting too, not homemade. Has anyone else found out a core memory was based on something totally different than what you believed?

Saw a thing once where a grandma's "famous" recipe was just the back of a cracker box.

My friend's mom swore by her "secret" lasagna recipe for years. Turned out it was just the recipe on the back of the lasagna noodle box.

My mom does this with her "famous" dip and I found the cracker box in the trash one time. Now I just save people the trouble and print the box label for them.
