Spent $200 on a 'revolutionary' weighted blanket and it fell apart after 3 washes

I bought this fancy bamboo weighted blanket from a social media ad last winter, and the beads all shifted to one corner by the third time I ran it through the wash. Has anyone else gotten burned by those overpriced blankets that claim to change your life?

Oh man, I got completely ripped off by one of those too! I ordered this "ultra premium" weighted blanket that was supposed to be 20 pounds, and after two gentle washes all the glass beads clumped up at the bottom like a giant sandbag. It was from some influencer's ad and cost me like 180 bucks, now it's just sitting in my closet because I'm too mad to even look at it. My cat loves it though, she sleeps on the lumpy part, so at least someone gets some use out of this overpriced disaster.

Huh, I actually kinda like that lumpy feel on mine.

Is it just me or does it feel like everything advertised on social media these days is designed to fall apart on purpose? I've noticed this pattern where companies spend all their money on flashy ads and influencer partnerships instead of actually making a decent product. They know most people won't bother returning something after it breaks because the hassle isn't worth the refund. It's like they're banking on that one-time sale and moving on to the next sucker. My friend bought a "military grade" phone case off Instagram and it cracked from a two foot drop, so this weighted blanket disaster fits right in with that whole scheme.
