That one whole week where everything went wrong before 9am each day

I had a week last March where Monday through Friday I snapped a dental pick, spilled a patient's rinse cup all over myself, and locked my keys in the car before noon - each one on a different day. Still not sure if it was the full moon or just bad luck, but has anyone else had a stretch like that where you just started expecting the worst?

ngl but the full moon thing isn't really backed by science. studies show no real correlation between lunar phases and human behavior or accidents. it's just a fun story we tell ourselves. that said, your week sounds absolutely brutal. i once had a monday where i dropped my phone in the toilet, locked myself out of my apartment, and then got a flat tire all before 10am. sometimes life just piles on like that for no good reason.

Actually some studies do show a tiny uptick in ER visits during full moons.

A 2011 study out of Switzerland actually found a 3-5% increase in emergency room admissions during full moons (mostly for things like injuries and gastrointestinal issues). But critics argue that the effect is so small it could just be random chance or confirmation bias, especially since people are more likely to remember scary stories on bright nights. Honestly, the science is kinda all over the place on this one (I've seen papers on both sides), so maybe the jury's still out.
