Watched my grandpa's shed flood and he just smiled at the water line

Last April I was helping clear out his old workshop in Tulsa when a pipe burst behind the workbench. Water spread across the floor and soaked a box of his father's blueprints from 1952. He didn't panic, he just pointed at the stain on the wall and said "that's where the 1965 flood stopped." I froze for a second, then grabbed a mop and started laughing with him over what got ruined. That moment taught me that some memories matter more than the stuff they're attached to. Now when my own basement leaks or a shelf collapses, I try to find the funny side before the frustration. Anyone else have a family moment where losing something made you see it differently?

Good lord, wait. He just stood there and watched his dad's blueprints turn into a wet paper towel and laughed? Your grandpa is a stronger person than me. I would have been screaming and trying to rescue every single page with a hairdryer. The fact that he knew the exact flood line from 1965 is honestly wild. That means this wasn't even his first rodeo with water in that shed. I'd still be mad about the blueprints, but I guess that's why he's the grandpa and I'm just someone who cries over cracked mugs.
