Why I think the old-school 3-ring binder system still beats any note-taking app for studying

Switched back to paper notes after 2 years of using Notion for my night class on local history, and I remember the lecture details way better when I have to physically flip pages and write by hand, does anyone else find their brain just refuses to absorb stuff off a screen?

This is the same reason I notice people remembering directions better with a paper map than GPS, @lewis.finley. Your brain just engages more when you have to physically handle the information instead of scrolling past it.

Stuck with paper for studying local history too. My brain just holds onto details better when I'm physically writing stuff down. Screens make it too easy to skim without really learning anything.
