I think keratin treatments get way too much hype

Every stylist at my salon in Austin pushes them like they're magic, but I've seen three clients end up with fried strands after 6 months of repeat treatments. The formaldehyde levels alone make me steer people toward smoothing balms instead. Am I the only one who thinks the risks outweigh the results?

Honestly, those fried strand stories are terrifying.

Kelly, right? These fried strand things are wild. I swear, one time I was so tired I almost microwaved my phone charger cord instead of a Hot Pocket. I still get chills thinking about it, not gonna lie. I guess that's why I stick to my trusty old toaster now, even if it does set off the smoke alarm every single time.

Did a friend of yours get fried strands from keratin or just see it happen?
