I was sure a 20 minute processing time for a level 7 toner was a waste until a client's hair turned out perfectly even.

I tried it on a whim after a color class in Austin, and now I'm rethinking my whole timing chart for demi-permanent formulas.

Ever have a client argue with you about a processing time, only to be totally wrong? I had someone swear their hair wouldn't take a glaze in under five minutes.

Once had a guy try to tell me his coarse hair needed double the developer. The test strand proved him wrong, but my ego took a hit for a minute there.

Remember when everyone rushed toners out in five minutes flat? I held one for a full twenty on resistant gray and the difference was like night and day. Sometimes the old rules just need to be broken.

Ugh, I've been there with stubborn gray hair too.
