My mentor called me out for using the same brush for foundation and concealer. She was right and I'm still mad about it.

She pulled me aside during a wedding trial last Saturday and said 'you're blending bacteria into her skin, not makeup.' Has anyone else had to totally rethink their sanitation habits after hearing something obvious but painful?

Blending bacteria... that's brutal. I literally gasped reading that because it's so true but no one wants to hear it out loud. Never thought about how much gunk gets trapped in a single brush when you're just dipping back and forth. Makes me wonder how many of my past clients might have gotten breakouts from my own lazy habits... yikes. Guess we're all learning the hard way on this one.

Right? That image of bacteria just doing the backstroke in your foundation is stuck in my head now too. Guess my whole makeup routine was just a fancy way of spreading little skin gremlins around my face. At least we're all in the same gross boat, just paddling with dirty brushes. My spatula and I are having a real moment now, we're practically best friends. Silver lining is I've saved a ton of money on not buying new products for a while.
