Quick tip: Use a spoolie to clean your nail polish bottles before closing them

I kept getting dried polish stuck in the threads of my bottles and it made them impossible to open after a few months. Grabbed a clean spoolie from my kit and just swipe it around the rim before screwing the cap back on... works like a charm. Has anyone else found a weird tool that solves a random salon problem?

Wait, have you ever tried using an orange stick to push a tiny bit of cuticle oil around the threads? I had this one bottle of top coat that was basically glued shut after like two months. Nothing worked until I dipped a wooden cuticle pusher in some oil and just ran it along the rim. The cap barely stuck after that. It's not as precise as a spoolie for getting the dried polish off though. I still have to scrape the big chunks first with the stick then finish with a spoolie to get it really clean. The oil trick saved me from throwing out like three bottles that were getting stuck bad.

Huh, never thought of using cuticle oil but it makes sense since it's basically just mineral oil and that won't gum up the threads like polish remover can. That beats tossing a bottle every time the cap gets stubborn.
