Serious question about feedback I got on my sectioning technique

A client told me last Thursday that her previous stylist always used diagonal partings for fine hair. I had been doing straight horizontal sections for years. Decided to try it out on a few clients this week and the lift at the crown is way better. Has anyone else had a random comment totally change how they section?

My coworker told me the same thing about diagonal partings for finer hair like 3 years ago and it was a total game changer for my crown lift too.

That diagonal parting tip is honestly one of those things that sounds too simple to work but somehow just does lol. The way it changes the whole weight distribution across your crown is wild. I've been doing it for about 4 years now and I straight up cannot go back to a straight part without my hair looking flat and sad. The layers fall way better too especially when you blow dry with a round brush going diagonally. My stylist actually showed me that you can switch which side the diagonal goes on depending on if you want more volume on the left or right that day. Its like a cheat code for fine hair honestly.
