Spent 3 hours trying to fix a curling iron that just needed a new outlet

I was at work last Tuesday and my regular curling iron just stopped heating up mid-curl. Client is sitting there with half done hair. I spent forever taking it apart, testing the cord, swapping fuses. Finally my coworker walks over and points out the outlet is dead. Plugged it into the one next to it and it worked fine. Felt like a total dummy. Has anyone else had a tool scare that was just a power issue?

Happened to me with a flat iron at home. Checked the whole thing, even watched a repair video. Then my roommate unplugged her hair dryer from the other outlet and mine came back on. Felt like the biggest idiot for a solid hour.
