Switched from foil highlights to balayage for this one client and never looked back

Had a regular named Sarah who always wanted that lived-in blonde look. I spent 3 hours doing foil highlights every 6 weeks and she still complained about the root line showing after 2 weeks. Finally tried a balayage technique on her at the salon downtown and she went 4 months between appointments. The color melted so much better and she tipped me $40 extra. Has anyone else had a technique swap that totally changed your schedule?

Oh come on, I gotta play the other side here. Balayage might look nice and soft but it always fades way too fast on my clients with darker hair, ends up looking like a muddy mess in 3 weeks. Sorry Charles_mitchell but I'd rather do foils every 6 weeks and have that crisp, bright color that actually lasts instead of dealing with touch-ups every month anyway.

Balayage totally saved my schedule too, less maintenance is a game changer.
