Took me 5 years to try a wet brush on curly clients, I was wrong about it
I always thought wet brushes ripped through curls, but a coworker in Tampa made me try hers on a 3C client last month. The flexy bristles actually glided through without yanking the pattern apart. Anyone else switch tools after swearing them off for years?

You ripped through curls" is exactly what I pictured for years. I refused to even pick one up. It took my niece begging me to try hers on her 2B hair before I caved, and I was honestly mad at myself. The bristles bend way more than I thought, so they follow the curve of the curl instead of fighting it. I still use my regular brush on straight hair, but for anything with wave or curl, I'm converted now.

Wait, your niece talked you into it after all those years of swearing them off? That's wild, @kim.jake. I gotta ask, what took her so long to convince you, or did she just wear you down one day? The way you describe the bristles bending, it sounds like a whole different tool than the scary thing I always picture. Maybe I've been judging them wrong this whole time too. Honestly, hearing you say you were mad at yourself makes me want to give mine another shot, but I'm still a little scared.
