Turned down a $22/hour chair rental in Austin to stay commission in my hometown, still not sure I picked right
Six months in, the steady clients I kept are worth about $400 less a week than that rental would have brought, but I get to actually take my time on a color instead of rushing to flip the chair, so has anyone here gone from commission to renting and regretted it?
Does the slower pace actually make you more money on the color itself, like can you charge more or book fewer rushed clients a day? Trying to figure out if the tradeoff is just time or if there's real cash hiding in there.
