Why does nobody talk about how much salon chairs have changed?
I swear I used to think newer salon chairs were just a gimmick to charge more. But then I worked a double shift at a shop in Nashville last spring and my back was killing me on those old metal frame chairs. One of the girls let me try her newer hydraulic chair with the lumbar support and I actually didn't hate myself after that day. Now I'm looking at upgrading my station setup but man the price jump is real. Like I found one I like for $800 and that's more than I paid for my first car. How many of you have switched to the newer chairs and actually noticed a difference in your body?

OH man tell me about it. I was skeptical too but when I finally broke down and got one with actual lumbar support my back stopped locking up halfway through the day. If you're gonna drop $800 just make sure you test it first, some of those fancy hydraulics sag after a year and you're worse off than before.

$800 for a chair you sit in for 8 hours is nothing compared to what you'd pay for a mattress you sleep on for 8 hours, but honestly people overhype how much these new chairs actually help. Your back hurts because you're on your feet all day, not because of the chair.

My buddy paid $1,200 for a high-end gaming chair and still complains about his neck after 6 hours, so @max_torres44 might be onto something. It's funny how we throw money at gear to fix problems that are really just about standing too much or sitting wrong to begin with.
