Am I the only one who thinks buying a fancy load indicator was a total waste?

I dropped $600 on a digital load indicator for my Grove RT last spring, thinking it would make my job easier. Instead, it kept giving false readings on anything under 5 tons, and I spent more time recalibrating it than I did lifting. My buddy's old school mechanical gauge has been dead on for 10 years with zero fuss. Has anyone else had better luck with the basic stuff over the expensive gadgets?

Have you ever thought that maybe the REAL problem isn't the fancy tech but HOW the manufacturer set up the sensitivity? I read somewhere that some digital load cells are dialed way too high from the factory to catch every microscopic wobble, which makes them useless for small lifts. It might be worth a call to their tech support to see if they have a firmware update or a different calibration profile for light loads before you give up.

Honestly, I heard some gyms just swap the factory settings with a basic calibration and it fixes everything.
