Had a guy convince me that older lattice cranes are better than the new telescopics

Met a retired operator at a diner off I-80 last week who said the old Manitowoc 3900s were smoother than any modern machine for pickin' heavy... he had me second-guessing my whole preference after he showed me a photo of a 1970s lift that stayed within a quarter-inch tolerance. Anyone else think new tech is overrated for certain jobs?

Did he mention any specific lifts where the old crane outperformed?

Yes, that's exactly what got me too! The older model was way better at handling those tight corner picks where you need that slow, controlled swing. The new one jerks too much on the fine movements and it drives me crazy. We had a job last month moving steel beams into a narrow slot and the old crane would've had it done in half the time. It's like they fixed one problem and broke ten other things in the process.

Try recalibrating the joystick deadzone in the settings menu - fixes the jerk issue.
