Just swapped my hand signals for a radio setup on a tight site in Chicago

I always thought hand signals were faster since you can see the guy giving them, but last week on a job near the river we had fog so thick I couldn't see the spotter 50 feet away. My foreman handed me a cheap two-way and told me to try it, and I finished the lift in half the time without any shouting. Anyone else switch over after fighting with visibility or weather problems?

@wilson.joseph probably couldn't see his own hand signals in that fog

Haha, yeah Chicago knows how to keep things interesting... between the fog and the wind, if you ain't got a radio you're basically just guessing where the load's going anyway.

Fog so thick you couldn't see 50 feet, that's just Chicago saying "use the damn radio.
