Old hand told me to stop riding the load line - fixed my hoist speed issue in one day
Some 30 year veteran watched me feathering the controls on a 50 ton Terex and said 'you're wearing out your brakes for nothing, let gravity do half the work.' Dropped my load time per pick by about 20%. Any other guys been told to ease up on the controls and seen better results?

Used to be heavy handed on the controls myself, thought finesse was the only safe way. That old timer watching me struggle for two days just walked over and showed me how to let the load settle into its own rhythm. Changed my whole approach and saved me a ton of brake pads since.

You ever watch someone work and realize you've been making it harder than it needs to be, @wesley_jones? I used to grip everything tight too, but seeing that old timer let the machine do the work changed my mind. Now I just ease into it and trust the rhythm.
