Sling hand signals are dying out and that worries me
Heard two young riggers at a job in Houston last week joking that hand signals are for old guys, they just use radios now. We had a near miss on a 90 ton pick because the signal guy's radio cut out mid-swing, luckily I saw him waving before it got ugly. Radios are fine for most stuff, but you can't beat a clear hand signal when the walkie dies or the site gets loud. Anyone else still drill signals with their crew, or am I the only one keeping this alive?
