TIL a cheap load cell can screw up your whole lift
I picked up a $40 load cell off Amazon for a job last week and it was off by 1500 lbs on a 10 ton pick. Almost swung a transformer into a trench before I caught it. Anyone else swear by a decent brand?

Does @the_mary's 2% drift stat still hold after a deadweight check?

Honestly though I kinda think you're overreacting a bit. Cheap load cells can be fine if you actually do a deadweight check before every use. I've been running a $30 one for two years now and it's never been off more than 50 pounds once I zero it right. The issue is people buy these things and assume they're calibrated forever. Ngl you should always check any load cell before a critical lift no matter what you paid for it.

I read somewhere that even high-end load cells drift over 2% with temperature changes.
